IFMIS Project Governance Structure

Because the project is large and complex, it has needed very careful planning and resourcing. In order to enhance the chances of a successful implementation, Government has adopted an IFMIS Project Charter, which ensures that project management best practices are used throughout the implementation.

The IFMIS Project Charter is the high-level management document for the IFMIS project.  It is owned, maintained and utilised by the project's Steering Committee to communicate the project goals and objectives, including specific statements pertaining to the project scope to the IFMIS Project Management Team (PMT) specifically and the Government of The Gambia and other stakeholders, generally. The document will be regularly reviewed and amended to meet changed conditions or objectives during the life span of the project. It contains:

  • A statement of the project goals and objectives

  • A high-level description of the Project Scope

  • A description of the project’s governance structure

  • An outline of the constraints and assumptions affecting the planning process

  • An outline of the high-level Project Risks that have been identified

The IFMIS governance structure is as follows:

IFMIS implementation workgroups include:

  1. Application Implementation Workgroup (AIT)
  2. Training, Capacity Building and Change Management Workgroup (TMG)
  3. ICT and Site Preparation Workgroup
  4. Audit and Security Workgroup
  5. Budget Implementation Workgroup
